Pollino Terre di Cosenza 2015 by Giuseppe Calabrese

Giuseppe's Maggliocco Dolce suggests a residually sweet wine based on its name. But don't worry, the only thing sweetly beguiling is the sweetly delicate nose in the glass. This smells like a juicy plum cake with rooibos tea, some licorice and anise. With its moderate 12% alcohol, the Pollino comes across as quite intense and powerful, it therefore goes great with braised dishes or spicy pasta dishes. Very drinkable on the palate with lots of grape juice. Bottled after 1 year aging in steel tanks unfined and without additives.
