Vinification

R&B 2020 from Pittnauer

The R & B stands for rosso e bianco, rouge e blanc, a lot of rhythm and a little blues - or to put it ampelographically (grape varieties): 75% Grüner Veltliner + 25% St. Laurent. A blend ratio that is seen as highly heretical in some wine circles, simply because it is an unorthodox production method. But the result justifies the means! In addition, the Pittnauers understand the idea to press a wine from red and white grapes as a political response to social conditions. Here is deliberately mixed and combined to produce a harmonious common entity. The grapes were harvested, vinified and matured separately and only then blended. Both wines were fermented spontaneously, aging took place in large wooden barrels, no filtering or fining, sulfur was minimal.
