Welschriesling Grünschiefer 2021 from Thomas Straka

Welschriesling is currently experiencing a renaissance among young winemakers, with the Straka winery in southern Burgenland leading the way. The grapes of the Grünschiefer Welschriesling grow on crystalline slate soils, which are responsible for the slightly smoky minerality. On the palate we find juicy apples, tart pears and a delicate phenolic from the skin contact. Like all Straka wines, bottled unfiltered.
