Vinification

Foam Vulkan Pet Nat 2021 from Meinklang

The Foam Vulkan comes from vineyards at the foot of Somló, a small mountain on the Hungarian side of the farm planted with the native grape varieties Harslevelü (in German known as Lindenblättriger) and Juhfark. The mash is fermented spontaneously in stainless steel and then bottled directly without filtration or further addition of additives. The wine completes its fermentation in the bottle - so be careful when opening, it resembles volcanic activity. Pale straw yellow in the glass with an animating perlage, it smells of yellow-fleshed fruit and delicate hints of meadow herbs with lots of citrus too. Perfect aperitivo for hot summer days.
