Pichler-Krutzler: When the children of two great winegrowing families fall in love, great things are born.

Both Erich and Elisabeth come from very renowned wineries, which are undoubtedly among the top addresses in Austria: While Elisabeth Pichler-Krutzler is the daughter of the well-known F.X. Pichler from the Wachau, Erich Krutzler comes from Burgenland, from where the Krutzler winery with its Blaufränkisch is known far beyond the borders of the country.

For Erich and Elisabeth, it's never about quick enjoyment. They are about mindfulness and passion for unconditional, clean work in the vineyard. No botrytis in the grapes, no overripe grapes, no rot.

In the cellar, they do without any fining, additives and sugaring, and the wines are given the time they need to mature and become perfect. In the end, there are wines with soul and character whose authenticity is dictated by nature.

Pichler Krutzler cultivates the best plots in the Wachau

The winery is located in the unique Danube landscape in the Wachau. On around 13 hectares of vineyards, Pichler-Krutzler produce many different Grüner Veltliner and Riesling wines every year from well-known sites such as Klostersatz, Supperin, Loibenberg, Kellerberg or Pfaffenberg in Oberloiben near Dürnstein.

In addition to the Grüner Veltliner grape variety, Pichler-Krutzler focuses primarily on Riesling. Oh, boy, and what Rieslings, because they easily hold their own with the best in Germany. All wines are harvested by hand from single parcels and processed as site wines.

These are among the best sites in the Wachau region, which the winery cultivates sustainably, and they produce wines that showcase their special origins without any regard for popular mainstream. Wines that are puristic and uncompromising.
