Vinification

L'Argile 2020 von Saint Jean du Barroux

The grapes of L'Argile come from very loamy vineyards at higher altitudes on Mont Ventoux. The grapes are harvested from Syrah, Grenache, Carignan and Cinsault with very low yields and selective hand harvesting. The must yields a remarkable concentration as only 15hl per hectare are harvested, then matured in enamel and stainless steel tanks. Aromatically, the cuvee is dominated by dark fruits and spicy floral notes. On the palate, the L'Argile 2020 presents itself with a fresh kick, an intense mouthfeel full of spiciness and finely integrated acidity, the wine appears powerful but not rebellious. This is Provençal elegance in a big way! Like all Saint Jean du Barroux wines, this one is not filtered, which is why it can often show larger amounts of deposit. After some time in the carafe, it really gets going!
