Tommy Ferriol Rouge 2023 from Domaine Matassa

Tom's very old Syrah vines and some Muscat petit grain find their way into the Tommy Ferriol (Ex Brutal Rouge). The maceration (= skin contact during fermentation) takes only 3 days and the result is great: a fine, direct aroma of redcurrant and strawberry juice, with new facets emerging time and again - raspberries, blueberries and fresh herbs. Always accompanied by this fine spiciness. Animating and constantly changing on the palate, but never exhausting or tiring. With a little patience and time, the Tommy Ferriol opens up a great natural cinema. Extremely limited, so be quick. Like all natural wines from the Matassa Weingutthere is no addition of sulphur or other additives, the work in the vineyard is the focus here, and this is skillfully demonstrated.
