A stroll through southern France in late summer – the scent of lavender in the air, peach trees lining the path and a cup of herbal tea in your hand. Cuvée Alexandria is a complex orange wine that seduces with floral lightness, ripe fruit and a delicate structure.

Vinification

Cuvée Alexandria 2023 from Matassa

The Alexandria 2023 cuvée – a flattering orange wine made from Muscat d'Alexandrie grapes grown on old vines on slate and marl soils. Fermented in 500-litre wooden barrels and aged on the fine lees for 3-4 months. Extremely low yields of only approx. 18 hectolitres result in fine, complex aromas and incomparable drinking pleasure. Tom Lubbes' biodynamic approach is reflected in a maximum alcohol content of 12%. The Alexandria 2023 cuvée is like a Mediterranean flower meadow: flattering, multi-complex and strikingly elegant with a wonderful freshness on the palate – an orange wine par excellence. Like all natural wines from the Matassa winery, it is unfiltered and unsulphured.
