Serragghia Zibibbo 2022

100% Zibibbo from sixty-year-old bush vines that grow on sandy volcanic soil at one of the highest points on Pantelleria. This rugged, 15 km long stretch of land with 7000 inhabitants is closer to Tunisia than to Sicily and is better known for its hot springs and capers than for wine. The vines are not treated at any time, as the unique climate and the many winds regulate the vines on their own. After a short pressing, the destemmed grapes are fermented spontaneously and then aged for seven months on the skins in terracotta amphorae that Gabrio has buried in the vineyard. Zibbibo is an extremely aromatic grape variety and demonstrates a dense flavor of ripe citrus, grapefruit, salt and herbs. Wonderfully lean and invigorating on the palate with a unique energy that is kept in check by the fine tannin and acidity structure. Mediterranean mojo.
