Vinification

Village Blanc 2023 by Marie Adler

Phenomenal cuvée of Riesling, Sylvaner and Traminer as a mixed set from the old Leistadter Kalkofen and Kallstadter Steinacker vineyards. At 250 meters above sea level above Bad Dürkheim, massive limestone cliffs, old vineyards and a cool climate come together in perfection. The result? A very unique style of wine with a clear signature that stands out radically from the Palatinate mainstream. The grapes are destemmed and gently pressed, matured for 12 months on the lees in Palatinate semi-vintage and stoneware. Cool, mineral, salty, the fruit is completely reduced, almost invisible. Spice, structure and a discreet use of wood dominate, which is by no means overpowering. Like all Marie Adler wines, it is bottled unfiltered, without fining and with minimal addition of sulphur. This is what the new generation of the Palatinate tastes like.
