Bringing the origin into the bottle as naturally as possible

Andi Mann appears sensitive. He radiates a special harmony and above all a naturalness. Talking about his wine and what is important to him, it becomes clear that these personality traits are also the most important foundation of his wine production.

Andi Mann strives to cultivate his 10 hectares of vines as holistically as possible. That means identifying the cycles of nature, working in harmony with them and giving the wines the time they need in the cellar for optimal ripeness.

The careful treatment of his vines is a matter of course. In addition to sustainable viticulture, Andi Mann thus pursues the goal of bringing the origin of the wines into the bottle as naturally as possible.

Vulkangestein als besonderer Boden

Andi bewirtschaftet besondere Lagen: Der Eckelheimer Nordhang ist geprägt von Vulkangestein (Porphyr), was seinen Weinen eine elegante und kühlere Linie verleiht und auch mal eine rauchige Note ins Spiel bringt. Neben dem Vulkangestein verfügt das Weingut noch über Weingärten auf Kalksteinböden, was eine wunderbare diversifizierte Geschmackspalette hervorbringt.

Im Fokus stehen dabei sowohl die deutschen Klassiker Riesling und Müller Thurgau, aber auch typisch burgundische Rebsorten wie Spätburgunder, Grauburgunder, Weißburgunder und Chardonnay werden neben Silvaner und Dornfelder gekonnt verarbeitet.

Andi Mann, ein Newcomer aus dem Jahre 1699

Andreas Mann gehört zweifelsohne zur gefeierten neuen Szene der deutschen Naturwein-Winzer. Die Weinfamilie Mann hat ihre Wurzeln jedoch schon vor langer Zeit geschlagen: Andi ist nun Winzer in der elften Generation und führt damit die Tradition fort, oder man müsste eigentlich sagen: führt sie auf ein neues Qualitäts-Level.

Bevor er sich jedoch auf sein Winzer Dasein einließ, machte er einen Umweg und studierte nach dem Abi Wirtschaftswissenschaften in Bochum. Zum Glück für uns, kam dann doch die Rückbesinnung und mit der Entscheidung den Betrieb zu übernehmen auch die neue Herangehensweise, nachhaltig und im Einklang mit der Natur besonderen Wein zu erzeugen.
