Christian Tschida was and is ahead of his time

Christian is what one would commonly call an "original". A free spirit, a visionary and, with his band T-shirts and leather jacket, simply a casual yet down-to-earth guy. Actually, he wanted to become an artist, but his passion for wine was greater. But somehow art came into being.

At a time when everyone wanted to drink massive barrique bombs, Christian Tschida developed a quasi-opposite but visionary style: delicate, moderate alcohol levels and free of additives. Today, in a time marked by a development towards refinement in wine, Christian Tschida is considered a superstar. He succeeds in balancing power and elegance with low alcohol levels in a way that is unparalleled.

"The positive energy of wine comes from a healthy soil, the top is cosmetic!" - Christian Tschida

The Austrian broke out of the then still very conservative viticulture of Burgenland with his way of thinking. He is very interested in the question of what balance of "intervening" and "letting things run their course" leads to the most perfect wines. The term "laissez-faire" appears again and again in his work - including the name of one of his wines - which, after years, can clearly be seen as the answer to the question.

"Whether I believe in the phases of the moon or not, the wine certainly does," says Tschida.
