Lichtenberger González: Expressive natural wines
From the very beginning, the young Austrian-Spanish couple Lichtenberger González was clear that they wanted to produce natural wines of the highest quality. And this under the maxim that every wine should be given the time it needs to become as nature intended.
Adriana and Martin more than live up to this claim thanks to their experiences from studies and wineries around the globe, the special climatic soil-geological conditions of their sites and, last but not least, the magic that this winemaker-love affair quite obviously carries within itself.
With Blaufränkisch, Neuburger, Grüner Veltliner and Weißburgunder, the winery uses only autochthonous (=local) grape varieties out of conviction. All organic, handcrafted and with a lot of passion, special natural wines are created here, all of which are bottled after spontaneous fermentation, without filtration or fining and with minimal use of sulphur.
The results are great, terroir-driven and profound natural wines with an elegantly integrated acidity and a grippy structure. You notice immediately that Adriana and Martin are masters of elevage, a term that refers to the maturation and process of winemaking from fermentation to bottling.
