Silt Lieu Dit 2015 from Rebenhof
The wine is named after the sandy soils found on the Witscheiner Herrenberg, which have an extremely fine structure, these are optimal conditions for vines. The grapes come from very steep plots planted with Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. All grapes, skins and stems undergo a two-day maceration and are fermented in stainless steel. Aging takes place separately for each grape variety: Sauvignon in stainless steel and Chardonnay in used French barriques. Then bottled unsulfured and unfiltered without any other gimmicks - nothing goes in and nothing comes out. It is remarkable what vitality and delicacy Hartmut's wines have, that's just fun to drink.
