1.) Riesling Kirchenpeace 2023, Marie Adler
Wonderful Riesling extract meets salty minerality and distinctive spice — it begins to vibrate on the palate. Salt lurks beneath a fine veil of reduction. Rock flour. Citrus zest. And then that finish — long, cool, citrusy. The grapes come from the oldest vines in the village, grown on Grand Cru terroir, but are not officially allowed to be called ‘Kirchenstück’. Declaration: ‘Landwein’.
2.) Courage 2020, Domaine Disco
What does Tement actually taste like without sulphur? Styrian umami in liquid form. Fresh mint, salted lemons and wet limestone with a noble reduction. The acidity? Cuts like a katana and transports you straight to wine heaven. Aged for 42 months on the lees: a new Styrian wine style for us! Made from 70% Pinot Blanc and 30% Chardonnay from barren limestone rocks. 3.) 7 Reihen Edelgraben 2022, Lichtenberger González A rare special bottling from the iconic Edelgraben vineyard on the Leithaberg – from vines up to 90 years old, deeply rooted in limestone. Ultra-polished tannins, cool and mineral at the core, and then it comes: that dark, spicy power, a wine like a punch in the face with a velvet glove. This is goose bump material for terroir freaks and character drinkers.
