Rive Droite 2023 from Terra Vita Vinum

100% Chenin Blanc from the famous Savennières appellation, from old vines on the Côte des Forges - actually an old vineyard of biodynamic icon Nicolas Joly. The Holy Grail in the Loire. The vines of Rive Droit are deeply rooted in green slate, interspersed with aeolian sands, and produce extremely low yields. But what the wine lacks in quantity, it makes up for in intensity and finesse. Terra Vita Vinum follows clear principles in the cellar, with careful manual work and maximum respect for nature. After slow pressing and spontaneous fermentation, the must is aged for 26 months in demi-muids, amphorae and concrete vats - a long maturation process that shapes structure and complexity. The Rive Droite 2023 is beguilingly tense: delicately reductive, salty and with ethereal aromas that dance and vibrate. The fruit is almost completely in the background - what remains is pure energy. Like all natural wines from Terra Vita Vinum, bottled unfiltered.
