The Wielitschberg is one of the most barren and uncompromising vineyards in the Tement Vineyard Triangle—a mountain that gives nothing away. This is exactly where WIELIEBE OS 2020 is grown, a cuvée of Morillon and Pinot Blanc, harvested together, fermented together, and aged together. No added sulfur—just the wine and whatever the soil imparts to it. This is terroir without a protective shield, yet there’s not a trace of instability. We find cool herbal spice, a gripping mouthfeel, and a chalky minerality par excellence that lends this wine a clarity rarely experienced in sulfur-free wines. An elegantly intense extract, very chalky, with a lingering finish. Here, too, Armin and Stefan Tement rely on selective hand-harvesting and gentle aging—24 months on the fine lees—before the wine is bottled unfiltered and unfined. The precision and delicacy achieved by WIELIEBE OS demonstrate that, for Tement, restraint is not a risk but a matter of principle. A wine that demands courage—and rewards it.
