Our take

Pinot Noir was shipped from Sopron to the world as early as the 16th century, now back in the glass: light, bright red, almost like a white wine in a red dress. Fresh, juicy, fragrant and wonderfully playful. Anyone who loves Pinot will be delighted. If you don't love it yet - now is the time.

Vinification

Kékburgundi Pinot Noir 2022 from Weninger

Kékburgundi 2022 is a tribute to the long Pinot Noir tradition in Sopron, where this grape variety was exported as early as the 16th century - the only Hungarian wine with a global reach. After more than ten years of experience with this demanding grape, Franz Weninger has taken a new approach here: whole grapes were carbonically fermented in the berry, which gives the Kekburgundi its light color, floral aroma and lively freshness. In the glass, it is reminiscent of a white wine dressed in red - delicate, juicy and incredibly easy to drink, with a subtle structure and plenty of finesse. A Pinot for advanced wine lovers - or those who want to become one. Like all wines from Weingut Weninger, unfiltered and bottled with or without sulphur.
