Vinification

Grauburgunder vom Kalkstein 2022 from Seckinger

Like Pinot Blanc, the Pinot Gris grapes come from limestone/loess soils in the Southern Palatinate. At first smell, the wine is very reductive, red spice, earthy, deep and firm. On the palate it is more classic for Pinot Gris, slightly sweet, melting and powerful paired with a very delicate acidity. The Seckingers do not want to fulfill classic German expectations with their Pinot Gris. For them, it is more than just fashion and therefore they want to preserve the natural aroma structure. This is how the grape variety is most enjoyable. Like all natural wines from the Seckinger winery, bottled unfiltered.
