Himmel auf Erden Grande Cuvée 2025

Tschida’s business card: the Grande Cuvée is made up of 70% Grüner Veltliner, 20% Sauvignon Blanc, and 10% Furmint. “Himmel auf Erden” is his flagship wine, Tschida’s light-footed classic. The grapes come from vines up to 60 years old on the Leithaberg; they are gently crushed by foot and aged for just under a year in large, used Stockinger barrels. Unfined, unfiltered, and with minimal sulfur. On the nose, initially a subtle reduction and stony coolness. With aeration, an exceptionally complex profile unfolds: ripe apple, delicate yeasty brioche notes, Wachau apricot, and ripe lemons. A very harmonious and elegant wine. On the palate, the “Himmel auf Erden 2025” is defined by a salty minerality, cool herbal nuances, and a delicate tannin structure that imparts freshness rather than harshness. Lightness and power at the same time—carefree yet profound. For us, this is a wine lover’s heaven on earth that needs no explanation. Like all of Christian Tschida’s wines, it is bottled unfiltered.
