Chava Chavient 2020

Chava Chavient is a cuvée of Chardonnay and Savagnin and, like the other wines from Les Barbatruks, comes from small micro-parcels around Arbois. The soils are criss-crossed with blue, chalky marl, which gives the wines a vibrant acidity. Maxim and Isabelle work strictly selectively by hand and crush the grapes directly. Short maceration and then quickly pressed, fermentation is spontaneous, followed by 24 months of ageing in used barriques. The Chava Chavient is definitely the quietest wine in the portfolio with unique radiance. Vegetal and mineral, a complex intense wine with energy and fine acidity, the combination between limestone and oxidative ageing is simply ingenious and exactly what wines from the Jura are also known for. Like all wines from Maxim Lannay and Isabelle Delahaye, bottled unfiltered and unsulphured. Extremely limited - 1 bottle per customer :)
