Sauspitz 2022

Sauspitz is one of the best slate sites on the Leithaberg, just a stone's throw away from Edelgraben. Previously mostly part of the Muschelkalk Weiß, it shows its full potential here on its own. 100% Grüner Veltliner from old vines. The slate brings razor-sharp precision and cool focus to the glass. Everything appears finely balanced - silky, flattering, elegant. The aromas are subtle and perfectly integrated, nothing stands out, everything is in balance. A wine with quiet depth that shows its class not loudly, but with attitude. Like every natural wine at Lichtenberger González, the Sauspitz 2022 is given a long period of maturation on the fine lees before being bottled unfiltered. Selective hand-picking and spontaneous fermentation in used wood. All handcrafted with great care and patience, Adriana and Martin Lichtenberger Gonzalez clearly demonstrate the signature of their winery and the Leithaberg.
