An intense orange muscat from the island of Samos. It smells of beeswax and candied citrus fruits, while ripe apricots glide over the palate with a salty, mineral finish. Top!

Vinification

Palli & Genesia 2018 from Sous le Végétal

100% Muscat, grown on pink, volcanic granite soils on the island of Samos, Greece. Palli et Genesia is the meaning of the Greek word palingenesià ("new birth"). It is in fact an abandoned vineyard in the village of Platanos that has been given a second life and reforested thanks to Jason Ligas and his team. Fermented for 40 days as a whole bunch in steel tanks, the Palli et Genesia 2018 is an intense orange wine, the screaming Muscat aromas are masterfully tamed and incorporated. Matured in 750L amphorae. Sous la Végétal is a wine project by Jason Ligas from Domaine Ligas and Patrick Bouju from Domaine la Bohéme. The aim of this project is to show the different expressions of this grape variety in the different microclimates of the island. Like all natural wines from Sous la Végétal, it is bottled unfiltered and unsulphured.

Sous le Végétal is a wine project by Jason Ligas and natural wine legend Patrick Bouju. On the volcanic soils of the island of Samos, they give the Muscat grape variety expressive forms of expression and always remain true to their philosophy of intervening as little as possible.
