AEIOU - Chardonnay 2025

AEIOU is a single-varietal Chardonnay from the Edelgraben single-vineyard site at the very top of the Leithaberg, grown on pure slate and cultivated biodynamically. Tschida originally planted the vineyard using a double-tier trellis system with over 10,000 vines per hectare: this means maximum competition and minimal yield, resulting in concentrated berries that have fought hard for every nuance. Spontaneous fermentation with natural yeasts, aged in large, used wooden barrels, unfined, unfiltered, and with no added sulfur. In the glass, it is slightly cloudy with yeast, a warm golden-yellow color, and immense juiciness. On the nose: white peach, crisp apple, mandarin orange, kumquat, a few hints of honey, wildflowers with dried herbs. Alongside its laser-sharp acidity, the AEIOU 2025 displays a full-bodied, warm structure with a subtly firm texture, complemented by hints of stone fruit, salted lemon, and plenty of extract. An incredible finish with invigorating herbal spice and juiciness. Like all wines from Christian Tschida, it is bottled unfiltered.
