An exceptional Pinot Blanc! So finely woven, such elegant extract, so much cool minerality. A delicate peach, camomile and yellow fruit aroma seduces from one glass to the next. Great!

Vinification

Pinot Blanc 350 N.N. 2023 from Odinstal

100% Pinot Blanc from barren soils at an altitude of 350 meters above Wachenheim. The terroir here is cool, stony and produces this purist, salty style that clearly stands out from the rest of the Palatinate. Andreas Schumann works meticulously biodynamically, selects strictly by hand and only processes absolutely clean grapes. Fermented spontaneously, then matured with plenty of rest in the cellar. A fine reduction on the nose, reminiscent of flint and gunpowder, followed by peach, meadow herbs, bread crust and some lime. Extremely straightforward on the palate with tension, cool acidity and salty minerality. A Pinot Blanc 350 N.N. that is uncompromisingly straightforward and yet exudes balance. Like all natural wines from Odinstal, bottled unfiltered.

In the 1990s, it was unimaginable to make wine so high up in the Palatinate. However, in times of climate change, the Odinstal vineyard, which sits 350 meters above the town of Wachenheim, is set to make history.
