Vinification

Beaujolais 2022 from Yvon Metras

100% Gamay from various sites outside the Fleurie appellation, which grow on granite soils. Yvon Metras cultivates his vineyards organically and uses very old vines. The grapes are harvested relatively late, which ensures a rich fruitiness and fleshiness that runs through the entire line of Metras wines. The Beaujolais 2022 plays the juiciest, lightest role. Spontaneous fermentation and long maceration on the skins, these are dark and racy Gamay's, which are then matured in used barrels and bottled unfiltered and without sulphur. Yvon Metras' natural wines are among the most sought-after wines in France.

Yvon Metras is a legendary winemaker from Beaujolais and, together with Jules Chauvet and Marcel Lapierre, is one of the champions of the natural wine movement. His dark and racy Gamay's around Fleurie are world famous and are among the most sought-after wines in the region.
