Forestieri 2021

The flagship wine from Forestrieri is made from old Sangiovese vines with some Ciliegiolo, Montepulciano, Alicante Nero (Grenache, Cannonau) and other unknown grape varieties, which grow together as a perma culture in the same rows - the best parcels of the Alta Maremma. In total, the Forestrieri undergoes a 4-month maceration period with partial whole-cluster fermentation, where every ounce of DNA is precisely extracted. The surrounding maquis with its lemon and olive trees is clearly noticeable in the wine as a delicate spiciness and vegetative freshness. Keyword terroir! On the palate, there is a subtle intensity and that classic rustic tannin, accompanied by ripe cherries that jump right out of the glass and want your attention. A structural wine: the Forestrieri is a long distance runner par excellence and we recommend prolonged aeration and large glasses to allow the wine to reach its full potential. With this wine, Dario and Ezequiel embody the vinophile quintessence of this wonderful region and at the same time write the new chapter of Tuscany. Like all Forestrieri natural wines, it is unfiltered and bottled with minimal sulphur.
