Head of the family and ancestress of Gut Oggau. A resolute, strong, old lady who still guides the fortunes of the Burgenland clan and defies all the adversities of life like a gnarled oak defies the storm. Has an open ear for everyone, but always follows her principles. Is the nostalgic "good-hearted grandma" who is trusted, but can also be mysterious and polarizing at the same time. One can be curious which story she will tell next or in which mood one will find her this time. Mechthild comes from a vineyard that is about 60 years old, planted with Grüner Veltliner on limestone and slate soil. This elegant lady is very gracious, but also polarizing, sometimes mysterious and always profound. Further rest in the bottle will do her good to show her expressive character. The maturation takes place for about 2 years in used 500 liter barrels on the full yeast. The berries are pressed in a 200 year old tree press and, like all Gut Oggau wines, bottled unfined, unfiltered and without additional sulfur.
