Bright red berries and fragrant herbs: the SP68 is the modern, light-footed interpretation of the Sicilian wine style and is really fun on the palate. Best drunk slightly chilled!

Vinification

SP68 Rosso 2023 from Occhipinti

With the SP68, Arianna Occhipinti brings plenty of Sicilian sunshine and freshness into the glass. The cuvée consists of the local grape varieties Frappato and one third Nero d'Avola, which grow on red sands and limestone, with the latter providing a little more extract and structure in the composition. The new 2023 vintage is nevertheless somewhat more delicate and lighter than its predecessors. The wine is matured for 6 months in cement vats and then bottled unfiltered. The SP68 2023 is very accessible and literally smells of red berries and spice, but can still be decanted and chilled slightly. An exciting entry-level wine from Occhipinti to get to know modern Sicily.
