Our take

Super juicy, delicately fragrant and perfect for summer. Stratos is Straka's animating entry and stands for fun and drinking flow! It's best to chill the second bottle!

Vinification

Stratos Rot NV by Thomas Straka

With the Stratos Red, Straka primarily processes young vineyards of Merlot and Zweigelt. The first one is responsible for the floral aromas. The Stratos grapes grow on crystalline slate soils, which are responsible for the slightly smoky, taut minerality. On the palate, we find juicy cherries, peppery spices and a delicate phenolic note from the skin contact. Playful, well-balanced and with a good drinking flow, Stratos is the perfect red wine for every day — so cool it too! Like all of Thomas Straka's natural wines, it is bottled unfiltered with minimal added sulphur.

Straka

Thomas Straka stands for the new, modern Burgenland. He has succeeded in bringing new fame to a supposedly insignificant grape variety: Welschriesling with character, structure and depth is a bit of a hype these days.
