Blaufränkisch Rechnitz 2019 from Thomas Straka

Thomas Straka ages his Blaufränkisch Grünschiefer 2021 in large neutral wooden barrels, because the grapes should set the tone and not the wood. We find intense fruit of sour cherry and blackberry, rounded off with subtle, smoky notes. With a little air and time in the glass, the slate tones also come through slightly. A juicy, crisp Blaufränkisch that stands for the new, modern Burgenland! Like all natural wines from Straka, the Blaufränkisch Grünschiefer is bottled unfiltered.
