Weinland 2023 is a white wine from the future - and at the same time deeply rooted in the present. The vines, primarily Souvignier Gris, come from young vineyards planted with fungus-resistant varieties. Vinification was carried out with long maturation on the lees, which gives the wine depth, structure and a fine, restrained fruit. The precise, almost crystalline acidity reminds many of Furmint. This is no coincidence, as the style is deliberately based on it, but appears more accessible and open. The legal designation of origin "Weinland" for unfiltered wines from Lower Austria and Burgenland has little charm for many - for the Weninger's it is a projection surface, which Franz describes in his blog article "The stolen origin" explains. A natural wine that tells a story: of change, emotion and new paths. Like all wines from Weingut Weninger, unfiltered and bottled with little sulphur.
