Our take

Maximum complexity with low alcohol content: very few manage that. Fine texture like a great Burgundy, and then there is this southern Styrian exoticism. Banger!

Vinification

Quercus 328 2020 from Rebenhof

Chardonnay, Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc from steep sites of the Witscheiner Herrenberg - the age of the vines is 20 - 40 and they root on Opok (sandy limestone). All grapes, skins and stems are fermented together for 2 days on the mash in steel tanks, then aged for 12 months in French barriques. So much for the name giver Quercus 328, which means oak in Latin. You can feel almost every bit of DNA of the southern Styrian terroir, pure natural wine. An exciting ride between ripe exoticism, herbs and gentle grip on the palate, the tannins, however, are not rebellious but extremely finely integrated. Nothing added - nothing removed. Like all natural wines from Rebenhof, bottled unfiltered and unsulphured.
