Intense iron minerals with some blackberry spice, yet very fine like a velvet glove. A terroir Blaufränkisch with a polished, cool aesthetic and grippy tannins.

Vinification

Blaufränkisch Eisenberg DAC 2018 from Wachter Wiesler

In the range of Wachter Wiesler, the Eisenberg 2018 definitely takes on the most powerful and concentrated role. The Blaufränkisch grapes come from the plots Fasching, Saybritz and Hummergraben, all of which have a high concentration of ferruginous green slate and deliver a lot of tension on the palate. Spontaneously fermented and also aged like the other wines in large wooden barrels with 600L & 1500 L capacity. Then bottled unfined and unfiltered. Tightly woven, dark and with fine spice - pretty awesome stuff!
