Our take

A sparse, mineral Grüner Veltliner with hints of honey and chamomile that is in no way inferior to its Austrian neighbors. Initially shy and delicately reductive, it unfolds like a flower over time. Burgundy lovers will get their money's worth here.

Vinification

Labyrinth 2021 from Naboso

Labyrinth is the new single-vineyard wine that really packs a punch - Nadja and Andrej are once again proving that they have a sure sense of style. A single-varietal Grüner Veltliner that produces its best on barren granite soils and is sure to appeal to all Burgundy lovers. The longer maturation in the cellar really pays off. After a short maceration period, the Labyrinth is matured in small acacia and oak barrels in 500-liter format, the wood is noticeable in the wine, supple and slightly creamy, but never exuberant, everything seems wonderfully integrated and super elegant. On the nose, there is a portion of yellow fruit with honey and some chamomile. Labyrinth definitely needs some air and time in the glass, it's best to decant it an hour in advance. Like all natural wines at Naboso unfiltered and bottled with minimal addition of sulphur.
