Vinification

Voodoo Doll 2020 from Schmitt

100% Riesling from biodynamic cultivation and fermented with a longer maceration period, then aged in large wood under the flor yeast, which gives the wine a slight oxidative twist. At first, this seems untypical for the grape variety, but in the overall context - together with the Riesling aroma - it nevertheless presents an extremely interesting side. Totally unique for Germany and Rheinhessen, Bianka and Daniel conjure up an aromatically spicy and complex orange wine par excellence in the bottle with the Voodoo Doll 2020, Riesling is an all-rounder. As always, unfiltered and bottled with very little added sulphur.
