Apple-pear compote meets complex herbal spice: a focussed Sylvaner with fine tannins, citric grip and a delicately bitter finish that lingers for a long time!

Vinification

Sylvaner 2022 from Georg Lingenfelder

Georg's third vintage: 2022 was an extremely dry and hot year, with correspondingly more fruit than 2021. In any case, they all deliver properly. The Sylvaner 2022 comes from a 30-35 year old vineyard and was fermented spontaneously with the vineyard's own yeasts in used Palatinate barriques from the neighbouring forest, racked after approx. 12 months on the full lees including dirt and bacon fat (i.e. no separation of the lees) and bottled unfiltered with minimal addition of sulphur - this results in a wonderful texture and a certain meatiness. Georg's Sylvaner 2022 is complex, deep and at the same time fresh with a fine herbal spiciness, juicy on the palate with a good pull that really activates! Like all Naturweine von Georg Lingenfelder unfiltered and bottled with minimal sulphur.

Broke away from home, travelled a lot and then studied geology - the longing for the Palatinate and natural wine finally brought Georg Lingenfelder back to Großkarlsbach, where he leads the family winery towards modernity.
