Pinot with understatement - but all the more depth! Dark cherries, crushed pepper and a hint of forest floor dance delicately and juicily across the tongue. Not a loudspeaker, but one that scores with fine spice and subtle elegance.

Vinification

Pinot Noir 2023 from Georg Lingenfelder

2023 was a dream year in the Palatinate - perfect conditions for characterful Pinot Noir with depth. The 48-year-old Pinot parcel is slightly elevated with a westerly exposure and poor limestone soil - ideal conditions for delicate fruit, cool dark spice and precise structure. After selective hand-picking, the grapes were crushed with feet and hands and left on the skins for seven days before being fermented spontaneously on the vineyard's own yeasts. The wine was matured in used Palatinate oak barriques from the neighboring forest, where it was allowed to mature gently on the lees. A finely chiseled, juicy and spicy Pinot with animating freshness and subtle depth - absolutely typical of the variety, yet independent and uncompromising. Like all natural wines from Georg Lingenfelder, unfiltered and bottled with minimal added sulphur.
