Riesling Stube 2023

2023 was a dream year in the Palatinate – perfect conditions for making great wine. With the Stube, Georg is bottling his first single vineyard release. The west-facing site is one of the cooler in the region and, with 55-year-old vines on tertiary limestone, offers ideal conditions for exciting Riesling. Hand-picked and selectively sorted in the vineyard. The grapes were crushed by hand and foot, fermented spontaneously on the vineyard's own yeasts – in used Palatinate barriques from the neighbouring forest. About two days of maceration, then left on the lees for 18 months. Unfiltered and bottled with minimal sulphur addition. A classic Palatinate Riesling, straight out of the textbook, authentically reflecting its origins. On the palate, it has good tension and vigour – this is how the young Palatinate tastes. Like all natural wines from Georg Lingenfelder, it is unfiltered and bottled with minimal sulphur.
