Our take

Pinot gris goes orange. Georg enchants the grape variety into a wonderfully drinkable natural wine with an edge! Parfumed red berries are joined by a pinch of black tea. Aromatic, juicy, delicious!

Vinification

Pinot Gris 2022 from Georg Lingenfelder

100% Pinot Gris, completely enchanted as an orange wine. Georg selects the grapes by hand and then macerates everything with his feet, the maceration time for Pinot Gris 2022 is 7 days. Fermented spontaneously with the vineyard's own yeasts in used Palatinate barriques and in steel tanks, then bottled unfiltered with minimal addition of sulphur. The Pinot Gris has a delicate phenolic character and a certain meatiness due to the ageing on the skins. In combination with the fruity aroma of the grape variety, this is a lot of fun and doesn't come across as cheesy. The microclimate around Großkarlsbach is somewhat warmer than in other parts of the Palatinate and gives the Natural wines from Georg Lingenfelder A certain yellow fruitiness. Immensely juicy on the palate with a nice grip and good tension. Wow!
