Grandes Rogeries - the powerhouse! Deep and long-lasting, this Chenin is somewhat broader-shouldered and full-bodied, yet fine and balanced. It goes down like silk and still makes everyone kneel down!

Vinification

Grandes Rogeries 2021 from Terra Vita Vinum

100% Chenin Blanc from the Grandes Rogeries vineyard - the powerhouse at Terra Vita Vinum - in the commune of Moźe on the eastern bank of the Loire in the Anjou Noir, classified as Anjou Blanc. The old vines grow on volcanic rhyolite, also known as porphyry. The Grandes Rogeries 2021 is the more expressive evolution of the Grand Vau. The wood is present, but gives a good structure with a delicate melt. After slow pressing and spontaneous fermentation, the must is aged for 26 months in demi-muids and amphorae. The amount of sulphur added varies depending on the vintage; a small amount is added to the 2021 vintage. Like all natural wines from Terra Vita Vinum, the Grandes Rogeries is bottled unfiltered.
